here’s how i built a cozy cat restaurant game with Claude Code + three.js, with zero imported assets.
every cat, bowl, pond and tree is made in code!
the trick is that the agent never guesses.
everything it needs is written down before it builds
step 1: one brief with references. “Cats & Soup mood, Monkey Mart readability”, plus screenshots of what we liked
step 2: a CLAUDE.md with the rules, and design docs as the single source of truth: economy, art, sound, events
step 3: everything block-built in code: big-headed cats that run on all four paws, carrots, a soup pot with a chef cat stirring it
step 4: one loop at a time: carry carrots → cook soup → serve tables → get paid → hire helpers → fish → a second recipe
step 5: Claude built me a level editor. I drag the stations around, paste the layout back, and it ships exactly that
step 6: funnel events in every build. a playtest showed a gap at the very first purchase, so we redesigned the guidance
step 7: a 15-minute autopilot plays the whole game on every test run. it caught stalled orders and seats no cat could reach, none of which threw an error
step 8: you give feedback with a reason: “the camera feels jittery, give it a dead zone”, “I want to read their faces at this zoom”
and the two rules that make it work...
the agent that builds is never the one that approves
every ruling goes into a file, so the next game starts from a playbook, not from zero
start small: one loop (carrot → soup → coin) before anything else
