According to Bloomberg, Epic Games delayed their upcoming Star Wars + Marvel shooter to pivot to complete AI game development. Jason Schreier said that although Epic has been pushing generative AI for years, this is the first time a major gaming company will attempt to build a game using an “AI-first” production model. One of the game’s directors told staff, “No more hand-written code,” with all art expected to be generated through full AI workflows.
