You Made an AI Game… Now How Do You Actually Make Money?
A lot of people ask: Can games made with AI actually be monetized?
Here are the realistic paths that currently exist:
Ads (IAA)
Best for lightweight casual games. Some platforms (e.g. TapTap Maker) already have this working, with ad revenue going to creators.
Paid downloads / Steam Requires commercial rights. On Rosebud, for example, you need a paid plan for commercial use, then export a Windows build for Steam.
Play-based payouts
UGC platforms like Astrocade share revenue based on playtime/performance.
Tips + microtransactions Browser games can integrate Stripe for tip jars or sell skins/items.
Asset / template sales
Sell finished assets or templates on Gumroad.
Subscriptions / sponsorships
Patreon or paid communities — better if you can keep updating content.
Right now, casual games monetized with ads are the easiest starting point. Deeper games tend to work better with paid downloads or community models. Anyone here with real monetization results? Share the numbers.
